These magnificent pyritized Harpoceras ammonite were found in the famous Holzmaden Shale near Stuttgart, in Germany. 

This gorgeous specimen is a marvellous piece of natural, decorative art; it is sure to evoke an intense emotional response from any visitor. 

They dates back to the Jurassic Period - 200 million years old! The smaller ammonites belong to a different species, Dactyloceras

It has more than 50 small Dactyloceras ammonites preserved on the shale!

Dimensions: matrix weighs approximately 43 kg (95 lbs), Size: 42.5 x 33 x 1 inches (108 x 84 x 2.5 cm). Largest ammonite is 9.7 inches. Second largest is 9.3 inches and third largest measures 9.2 inches.
