The Story

In impeccable condition, this 69.5-inch fossil mammoth tusk is an unbelievable discovery. The tusk comes from a mammoth that lived on the tundra more than 20,000 years ago, during the Late Pleistocene.

Overall, this is a superb specimen because of its intact tip and gorgeous coloration – it’s ready to be displayed in your home, office or museum. The natural coloration is stunning with a mixture of golden and earthy browns with some unique light greyish sections.

A custom-made stained solid oak stand showcases this Ice Age treasure’s beautiful curvature.

Diameter - 3.2"; Weight - 18.9 lbs.
Dimensions with stand : L - 37", H - 42", W - 8".

All of our mammoth tusks have been professionally stabilized; however, these specimens must be kept in an indoor environment with stable humidity and temperature. Ideal conditions are 50% to 60% humidity and 68 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit.

Species: Mammuthus primigenius (Woolly mammoth)
Location: Southwest Siberia. 
Age: Late Pleistocene 

Fossil mammoth ivory can be distinguished from present-day elephant ivory by the angle of crosshatching (Schreger lines) and can be traded internationally.
